Polymer Clay Cernit Number One, 700 Yellow – 56g

Before Using:

Condition Cernit Polymer Clay by either slicing and rolling with an acrylic roller or, by kneading in the palm of the hand. The heat of the hands will assist to soften the clay. Use with clean hands on a clean surface to prevent dirt or dust getting into the clay. If the clay hardens over time, it can be rejuvenated using Magic Mix or Cernit Soft Mix.

Curing or Baking:

Cernit Polymer Clay polymerizes (hardens) between 110 and 130°C (230-266°F) in a preheated oven. Baking time – 30 minutes per 6mm. Bake multiple times to add components to pieces. Baking at temperatures higher than recommended by the manufacturer may cause harmful gases to develop and can compromise colour.

Important note:Do not attempt to cure in a microwave oven!

Finishing:

After curing Cernit can be sanded with wet & dry sandpaper, beginning at lower grit and progressing to higher grits. (eg 320 to 1500grit.) Buff to a high shine with a soft cloth.

The Cernit range has a range of products for varnishing or sealing.

How to store Cernit Polymer Clay:

Once opened, store the clay in the same package or in plastic wrap, at the ambient temperature. Do not expose to very high temperatures. In very hot climates, some artists choose to store their polymer clay in a fridge.

Cernit Polymer Clay is safe to use and does not contain any phthalates. It is important to always wash hands after using polymer clay and do not put clay in the mouth.
