Lumiere Lusters™ – Imperial Orchid Flake (Low Temp) by JetAge Studio are specialty colour shifting, heat resistant metal oxide powders and flakes that work glittery magic in polymer clay and a multitude of other mediums.
Polymer Clay Instructions:
Lumiere Lusters™ are incredibly versatile and because they’re heat resistant, work exceptionally well with polymer clays, adding intense colour and shimmer to pieces.
Simply lightly rub the powders or flakes onto the surface of raw clay with a fingertip or brush before curing. You can also add these powders to resin projects or transparent paint mediums. A black background gives a stunning result.
Although they adhere very well to clay, a protective coating (eg transparent liquid clay, varnish, or a glaze is recommended) for items that will be handled a lot. Alternatively, seal with resin or Magic Glos to add a glass like appearance to finished objects.
Lamp work tip: While technically, this is a regular Lumiere Luster flake, it doesn’t produce a bright magenta colour when lamp worked, and encased (it turns silvery light pink). Therefore, it’s best to work with other mediums to keep the intense magenta colour.
Note: A face mask is recommended when using the Lusters as they are extremely light and float in the air.
