Fireworks Stainless Steel Mandrels and Bead Rake are made of 3/32″ stainless steel and have a low heat transfer, which keeps your fingers cool while working in direct open flame. Bead rake can be used to manipulate molten glass by dragging, raking, feathering or swirling the surfaces.
These are also perfect for use with Polymer Clay bead making. The mandrel at 25.5cm long and approximately 2mm in diameter offer large capacity bead baking with a larger center hole to be able to thread thicker cord.
The Bead rake has sharp points which would be wonderful for texture marking and starting your bead holes.
Start you bead hole with a smaller needle or bead pin to ensure you do not misshapen your bead. Work it through the bead until you can feel it just about break through the other side. Pull it out and push it in from the other side. Then take the Mandrel and do the same. You can reshape your bead in between and this process works best with Polymer clay that has had time to rest. It is very hard to push bead pins and mandrels through your beads when the polymer clay is soft due to a higher chance of the bead becoming misshapen. You can also use these mandrels to form and shape tube beads and well.
This pack contains 12 mandrels and one bead rake.
