Sanding Polymer Clay is optional but essential if you want to give your creations a professional finish with smooth edges, sides, and backs.

In addition, sanding and buffing over the front surface results in a lovely, smooth and velvety feel. Sealants, varnishes etc will not reproduce that deep magic shine! Sanding the feature front however, is only a suitable option if there are no surface additives like glitter, powder, pigment, paint, etc.

What can we offer to help you achieve these goals? Wet and Dry Sandpaper packs complete with instructions!

Why do we use wet & dry sandpaper? Sanding in conjunction with water prevents dust particles that result from dry sanding. Those dust particles are captured in the water which makes it safer by preventing inhalation of the dust.

Fimo Grind N Polish Set

The Fimo Grind’n Polish Set uses sanding sponges instead of sandpaper. The advantage of sponges is the ability to fold or bend them around a curved surface.

The Fimo Grind’n Polish set contains 3 different grades of sanding sponges (fine, superfine and microfine) for wet sanding and smoothing of hardened surfaces

Do you want to sand and buff to a high shine? You can’t go past Ginger Davis Allman of the Blue Bottle Tree’s course. We highly recommend it! In the words of Ginger Davis Allman:

“Don’t sand harder, sand better! Everyone loves a perfectly smooth, glassy finish, but it seems to be elusive. Does your polymer clay look scratched and rough after sanding? Can’t get a good shine, no matter how much you buff? Are you tired of sanded fingertips, sore shoulders, and cramped fingers? This course will change everything.”
